Rare On-Set Footage from Jurassic Park of Spielberg Directing

Check out this rare footage of Steven Spielberg in the act of directing. It's like watching a rare dinosaur in his natural habitat.

One thing that struck me was his absolute control and dare I say domination of the set. In the first shot, he shoes some bystanders out of the way. In the next, he practically uses Sam Neill and child actor Joseph Mazzello like puppets. In the last scene, he's almost a self-parody of a director: "You're really casual, yeah yeah, just like that, like you're defiant...maybe, good, yes!" and it looks like Sam Neill and Laura Dern are laughing at him in the distance.

Also note Jeff Goldblum acting exactly like one of the big the tall weirdos he portrays on screen. Look at how he waves those long alien fingers!
