Introducing PatMa Productions: an indie studio with the goal of magnifying diverse voices!
Nina Tassler, former CBS Entertainment Chairman, and producer Denise Di Novi have come together to start PatMa Productions. The name PatMa is in honor of the moms of the founders, Pat and Norma.
PatMa Productions is a multi-platform independent studio with a goal of magnifying diverse voices. They will make content for all platforms, such as digital, TV, film, theatre, publishing, etc. They recognize that diverse voices create innovational stories that are also good for business.
Tassler and Di Nova formerly collaborated on the CBS drama The District in 2000. Tassler was the chairman of CBS Entertainment. During her 12 years there, she held a senior executive staff that was half female and a group of showrunners that one one-third female. Since leaving CBS, she has been working as a producer.
Di Novi has received the Women in Film’s 2016 Crystal + Lucy Award for Excellence in Film. She has also produced numerous female-driven films, such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Little Women.
PatMa Productions is partnered with multiple organizations that share similar values, like Planned Parenthood, Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, and Center for Popular Democracy.
We are excited to see what original content will come out of PatMa.
