Facebook to kick off new "Watch" service with show "Skam".

Facebook is swiftly making the dive into original video content, and one of the first big acquisitions for the social media platform’s new Watch service will be an English-language reboot of a popular Norwegian teen drama called “Skam” (which translates to “Shame”). As Variety reports, Facebook’s global content chief, Ricky Van Veen, dubbed the series “the future of storytelling” with the show’s innovative use of corresponding social media content. It seems like a perfect fit for Facebook, and according to Fader, Julie Andem, the creator of “Skam”, will also serve as showrunner for the remake, so hopefully it will carry over the same spirit that made the original 4-season series such a hit.
