1.Detour (1945) - IMDb Score: 7.5 - 67 Minutes
A film chock full of paranoia and despair which was amazingly shot in only six days, Detour epitomizes the “B” movies of the 1940s. Watch out for Ann Savage. She is an absolute antagonistic terror in this noir.

3.The Stranger (1946) - IMDb Score: 7.5 - 95 Minutes

4.Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946) - IMDb Score: 7.5 - 116 Minutes
This twisted noir came out at a time when Barbara Stanwyck was established and Kirk Douglas was just getting his start. Van Heflin is the man with a secret as Martha Ivers uses her wiles to get what she wants.

7.D.O.A. (1950) - IMDb Score: 7.4 - 83 Minutes
Conceptually D.O.A. is a fully engrossing thriller as a dying man played by Edmund O’Brien tries to track down who poisoned him. He spends his last few days frantically searching for answers.
8.Kansas City Confidential (1952) - IMDb Score: 7.5 - 99 Minutes
It’s a gritty crime film starring John Payne as a man who gets unfairly accused of being involved in a robbery. His trail goes from Kansas City to Mexico as he tries to clear his name and enact revenge on his enemies.
9. The Big Combo (1955) - IMDb Score: 7.5 - 84 Minutes
A no nonsense cop played by Cornel Wilde tries to get the goods on local crime boss Mr. Brown using the mobster’s girlfriend. They don’t come much more moody or atmospheric than The Big Combo with scenes seemingly perpetually steeped in chiaroscuro lighting.
